BFJ prepared a plan to integrate bicycling and walking into the Windham Region's transportation system. The three primary goals of the plan were: 1) to improve regional linkages through new and improved routes, 2) support and enhance the Region's villages with pedestrian improvements, and 3) to provide a set of tools to help improve overall bicycling and pedestrian conditions. As part of BFJ's work, the team examined a series of data including annual daily traffic volumes, lane and shoulder widths of arterial and collector roadways, crash data, sidewalk and pavement conditions, drainage conditions, and locations of trip generators. The firm also used surveys of municipalities and citizens to identify priority projects.
