Beth Israel Medical Center Emergency Department Expansion Environmental Assessment

New York, New York

BFJ was retained by Beth Israel Medical Center (BIMC) to prepare an Environmental Assessment Statement for the expansion of the emergency department facilities at BIMC’s Petrie Campus on First Avenue between 16th and 17th Streets. BIMC’s proposal included the expansion of the department’s facilities, the relocation of two loading berths and the addition of two sky bridges. Our analyses focused on the impacts of the project on the adjacent historic district and the Stuyvesant School, a New York City Landmark, as well as traffic, air quality and noise impacts.
