Melissa Kaplan-Macey has 12 years of professional planning experience in the private and public sectors. She specializes in land use planning and zoning with a focus on comprehensive planning, neighborhood planning, public outreach and implementation strategies. Ms. Kaplan-Macey has managed a variety of planning projects from large scale master plans and zoning updates to smaller scale neighborhood studies and vision plans; she also provides on-call planning services to local municipalities.
Ms. Kaplan-Macey has taught as an adjunct professor in the urban planning program at New York University's Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. She is also a registered Professional Planner in the State of New Jersey. Prior to joining BFJ, she worked as a planner for Vollmer Associates in New York City and as a senior planner for the City of Trenton, New Jersey. She holds a Master in Urban Planning from New York University's Wagner School of Public Service and a Bachelor in Urban Studies from Brown University.
