BFJ’s Edison Township Master Plan was unanimously adopted by the Edison Planning Board on July 15, 2024.
From BFJ Planning, Susan Favate AICP, Noah Levine AICP, and Emily Tolbert AICP worked closely with a steering committee representative of the community, hosted numerous public engagements, and stewarded the plan through several public hearings to gain public input, support, and ultimately adoption.
Edison Township is a diverse community of over 100,000 people covering approximately 30 square miles in Middlesex County, New Jersey. Their last Master Plan was adopted over 20 years ago and last re-examined in 2011. The new 2024 Master Plan incorporates recommendations to help Edison meet its New Jersey Fair Share housing obligation, balance commercial revitalization and industrial development with residents’ quality of life, improve efficiency and safety of roadways, expand public access to the Raritan River, and address climate change vulnerabilities to improve Edison’s resilience.
